38 Weeks

How your baby's growing:Your baby has really plumped up. He weighs about 6.8 pounds and she's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). He has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold his hand for the first time! His organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If he's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If he's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time he's 9 months old. That's because a child's irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after he's born, but they usually won't get "lighter" or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)

I went to a website the other day that supposedly tells you what color eyes little buddy will have based on his parents and grandparents. Our little buddy has a 75% chance of blue eyes and a 25% chance of green eyes. We'll see!!
After taking the doctor at her word when she said I'd go into labor days after she strips my membranes, I decided to check it out on line. Turns out, it will probably happen that way, but it's not a sure thing by any means. Some sources on-line said it doesn't work at all and some say it works within a day or two. My autistic tendencies loved the 2-3 day window to plan around. I'm off to rock in the corner or do a bit of hand flapping now that I know it's not necessarily a sure thing. And maybe try to sleep.
Oh, the elusive slumber.
Jamie is due March 8th and not sleeping either. I think we need to come up with some midnight activities. Maybe movies every night at 12ish?
Did you know that Demi Moore is still acting? I didn't either until about 1:30 am after washing the couch cushion covers and sterilizing the pump. I wish I knew the name of the movie to warn people from it. It was better than the news in Arabic though.
